Rules and regulations for admission

  • The Teaching programme of the College is scheduled in two overlapping shifts, to accommodate the needs of advanced learners. However It may be noted by all concerned, that the college may change its timing and the shift arrangement as per the changing demands without any prior notice. At present the timings and the shift arrangement will be as follows:
    • All Classes of S.Y. and T. Y. B.Com (Including Self Financed) 7:30 onwards.
    • All Classes of F.Y.Com. (Including Self Financed) 11:00 onwards.
    • All Classes of M.Com. (Including Self Financed) 11:00 onwards.
  • The medium of instruction is English. Student’s pursuing Graduation / Post Graduation through English Medium are accepted to have high level of competency in English (Reading, writing & speaking). We therefore strongly recommend students intending to migrate from vernacular (Gujarati / Hindi / Marathi) medium to English Medium to understand his/her level of preparedness to study through English medium before taking admission in college to ensure effective learning in higher education.
  • There are three divisions each for First Year, Second Year and Third Year Classes for grant-in-aid programme and one division each year for self finance programme.
  • Astudent seeking admission to this college has to apply for admission in the prescribed form and within the notified time.
  • It is obligatory for the F. Y. B.com students to join one of the activities viz. National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) or Physical Training (P.T.) or National Cadet Corps (NCC).
  • Seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the categories like SC, ST, SEBC (Baxi Panch), PH and the children of Ex-Servicemen and students who have taken part / won prize in sports events at State / National level, as per Government and V. N. S. G. University rules, provided that they satisfy the University requirements and apply within the stipulated time. Students belonging to SEBC category must submit, along with application form, the necessary caste certificate and a certificate from a competent authority to the effect that they do not belong to the creamy layer group. Students applying for the sports quota should submit the copies of relevent documents in duplicate.
  • As per Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Ordinance No. 144, a student who has passed the examination of a Statutory University in India will not be allowed to appear at the same examination with the same subjects.
    • (a) Students who have studied and passed their Higher Secondary Examination held by Gujarat Secondary Education Board will be admitted to the college as per University rules on the basis of merit.
    • (b) Those students who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination from Boards other than Gujarat Secondary Education Board will be admitted as per the University rules.
    • (c) Students who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination held by a Board other than Gujarat Secondary Education Board or those migrating from other Universities shall have to produce a Provisional Eligibility Certificate from the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, after getting admission to this college. Such students will have to produce the Final Eligibility Certificate in due course. They will be admitted as per University rules on the basis of merit.
  • The College will follow the syllabus as prescribed by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.
    • (a) Students are expected to read the notices put up on the Notice Boards of the college and the college website from time to time. Ignorance of any notice or rules or regulation of the college / University will not be an excuse.
    • (b) Students are expected to observe all the rules and norms of discipline as laid down by the College.
  • ADMISSION GRANTED TO A STUDENT WILL BE CANCELLED IF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY HIM / HER IS EITHER FALSE OR IF HE / SHE WITHOLDS THE REQUIRED INFORMATION. IN SUCH CASES ALL THE FEES AND DEPOSITS WILL BE FORFEITED.
  • Admission to F. Y. B. Com. / M. Com. class will be given as per the merit list prepared, subject to the availability of seats by the centralised admission committee appointed by the university.
