College organized a library webinar jointly with V.T.Choksi Sarvajanik Law College, Surat on “Effective Use of E-Resources in Pandemic Times”, on 3rd May 2021 at 10.30 AM. Dr. Vipin D. Naik, Principal of SPB English Medium College of Commerce and Dr. Eramala Dayal, I/C Principal of V.T.Choksi Sarvajanik Law College were the coveners of the webinar. Mr. Sagar N. Tandel, The Librarian, V.T.Choksi Sarvajanik Law College, Surat was the organizing secretary. And Dr. Ravi Patel, Assistant Professor of SPB English Medium College of Commerce and Mr. Ajay Patel, Assistant Professor at V.T.Choksi Sarvajanik Law College were the coordinators of the webinar. Webinar was on Zoom Platform. Two eminent speakers were the resource persons. The first speaker was Dr. Ajay K. Sharma. He is an assistant librarian at SVNIT, Surat. Another speaker was Dr. N. Padma. She was a Librarian at SPB English Medium College of Commerce, Surat. Ajay Sharma explained topic of e library and national e library. He thrown light on Pratham software, how to use it and how to enroll on it with vocational and regular studies with demo. Dr. N. Padma explained pros and cons of acquiring and subscribing, detailing of MOUs. She also explained how to make opportunity during the following Covid times. Total 538 Participants were registered for the webinar and got benefit from the eminenet speakers. All the participants were provided the e-certificate at the end of the webinar after filling the feedback form. Due to unavailability of offline permission from government, college organized a webinar on Yoga and Celebration of Virtual International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2020, at 8.00 AM. Two Yoga experts Ms. Ruchika Pandya and Ms. Riya Mehta explained and performed Yoga live. Ms. Ruchika Pandya is a certified Yoga Instructor and Adhoc Professor at SPB English Medium College of Commerce, Surat. Ms. Riya Mehta is also a certified Yoga Instructor and a Diploma holder in Yoga. Dr. Vipin D. Naik, IQAC Chairman & Principal of the college was the Webinar Chairman. Dr. Ashok Saha, an Associate Professor of Physical Education, Dr. Sunil Rajani, a NSS Programme Officer and Associate Professor; Dr. Farida Mandviwala, NSS Programme Officer and Assistant Professor and Dr. Ravi Patel, Programme Co-ordinator and Assistant Professor were the members of Organising Committee. After Covid Lockdown when college resumed in offline mode, college organized a webinar on “Customs Audit” especially for B.Com. Sem. VI Students of VNSGU. The webinar was specially organised for the forthcoming examination of T.Y.B.Com. students of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University as an initiative for providing revision of the major topic “Companies Act” under the subject of Tax Procedure and Practice: Paper 7. Webinar was scheduled at 10:00 AM on 19th June 2020. Dr. Vipin D. Naik, IQAC Chairman & Principal was the webinar chairman and Dr. P. Pradhan, Associate Professor and Head of the department of Accountancy acted as the organizing secretary. Dr. Farida Patel and Dr. Ravi Patel, assistant professors of the college co-ordinated the webinar. Webinar was on Zoom platform. Dr. Farida Mandviwala was the speaker for the first session. CA Dr. Ravi Patel was the moderator for this session of webinar. She explained basic concepts, definitions and types of custom duties. He also explained valuation methods in case of import and export. 73 Participants were registered for the webinar and got benefit from the eminenet speaker. CA Aakruti Dalmia, a chartered accountant and a social worker, an entrepreneur, Leader, Trainer, Guest faculty at various institutes & Alumni of SPB college, Surat was the speaker of the webinar. She explained the various provisions of the companies act regarding company audit in simple and illustrative way. 397 Participants were registered for the webinar and got benefit from the eminenet speaker. All the participants were provided the e-certificate at the end of the webinar after filling the feedback form. After Covid Lockdown when college resumed in offline mode, college organized a library webinar on “Preparedness in Reopening Academic Library in prevailing Covid-19 environment”, on 1st June 2020 at 11.00 AM. Dr. Vipin D. Naik, IQAC Chairman & Principal was the webinar chairman and Dr. N. Padma, college Librarian acted as the organizing secretary. Dr. Farida Patel, assistant professor and Dr. Ravi Patel, assistant professor of the college co-ordinated the webinar. Webinar was on Zoom platform. Two eminent speakers were the resource persons. The first speaker was Dr. Akhtar Parvez. He is a University Librarian at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hydrebad. Another speaker was Mr. M. Chandrashekhar Vithal. He is a university Librarian at AURO University, Surat. Dr. P. Akhtar detailing done on prevailing covid conditions and making the opportunity of the gloomy situation with good interactive slide presentation. He awakened the otherwise dull situation in the academic libraries. Mr. M. Chandrashekhar Vithal explained in detail the precautions to take for the clients, the book and the staff. Sociail distancing, senitisers and how and when to keep books in isolation before shelving. It was very interactive and informative webinar with warm and wonderful participation of the overseas participants too. Total 840 Participants were registered for the webinar and got benefit from the eminenet speakers.
