NIRF stands for National Institutional Ranking Framework. It is the official ranking framework of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, launched in 2015 to rank higher-education institutions across India.
NIRF tells you how an Indian college/university performs compared with other participating institutions nationally.
NIRF ranking depends on institutions participating/submitting data and being included in the relevant ranking exercise. A college can have NAAC accreditation and a GSIRF rating without appearing in the NIRF ranked list.
